Ashton Rogers

Award Winning Author

Ashton fell in love with storytelling very early. Drawn to comic books, science fiction, and especially horror, he loved writing stories to share with his friends and family. In high school, he devoted all of his free time to writing and playing role-playing style games like Dungeons and Dragons and Vampire: The Masquerade, eventually publishing original homebrew materials for those worlds under the Open Game License.

In 2006 Ashton refocused his efforts on writing screenplays and working with local indi-film companies on small screen projects.

In 2008, Ashton stepped away from writing to pursue his education in gravitational physics and a career as a mechanical engineer. Eventually refocusing his science-based fields of research within the world of paranormal investigation, where he also produced and participated in the show After Dark. It wasn't long before Ashton found himself writing articles and doing interviews for multiple paranormal magazines and outlets. Eventually, Ashton was asked to write a book based on his team's paranormal experiences, a project which reignited his passion for horror writing.

Only a few months withing publishing his Non-Fiction book about the paranormal, Ashton started writing short horror stories that would eventually become his Under the Surface Collection. Since then, he has published numerous articles, essays, books, and podcasts about several subjects, both fiction and non-fiction.

When life hands you lemons, grab a bottle of scotch. Things are only going to get worse.

When the chips are down, Bryan has always risen above it. But when you get disenrolled from college, dumped by your fiancée, and fired from your job all in the same week, sometimes you just need to get drunk and cause some trouble. However, for a strait-laced, no-nonsense guy like Bryan, that trouble might be a little more than he can handle.

Luckily for him, his party-animal best friend, David, is never too far away to help convince him to lie, cheat, and vandalize his way out of one major catastrophe and into another. A Crippling Fear is the “handicapable” dark comedy about love, loss, blackmail, inappropriate nudity, and the importance of keeping an emergency animal groomer on call for your demon-possessed cat.

"Ashton's stories fall squarely into the realm of the macabre, and you can't help but have sympathy for any character ensnared in the author's Byzantine plots. His characters are credible and noteworthy, even while they seem doomed by the fact of their very presence in this dark collection." - Jack Magnus
