I'm happy to say that there have been great developments in the past few months and that I can finally share some of them with you. No doubt, if you are here, you have noticed some major changes in the look and direction of the website. As I have finished up some other personal projects, namely the publishing of my new book, I'm finally able to turn my attention back to game development. Long before now, James and I had started development on a new board game that had to be paused. Job changes and personal issues, unfortunately, got in the way, and the project was temporarily tabled. Now with things out of the way, we will soon be able to resume the project, which was almost to an alpha prototype phase. Because of that, the site needed a fresh coat of paint to accommodate better what we plan to accomplish going forward. The changes that have already been made won't be the last.
As for what our plans are going forward. First and foremost, the team will be picking up the project that was tabled: "Archmage: Symphony of Shadow" (working title). This board game will be a political-based power-grab style strategy game for 3 -8 players set in future/modern Eastern United States. There is still quite a bit of work and playtesting to be done, but it's a project I am very excited about. Unfortunately, for now, that's all I'm at liberty to discuss on that project.
On the Open License supplement side of things, I'm happy to say that we will be picking back up and probably cranking out material faster than ever going forward. Very soon, we will be ditching the Patreon format in favor of distribution through our own site as well as DrivethruRPG.com. We will continue to offer generic TTRPG and VTT maps for all genres as well as some original adventure modules designed to be folded into existing IP's. Additionally, we have been discussing the bones for creating our own IP as the setting for Fantasy adventures, and Fanatsy-Future Adventures.
Saldy I have to share that we have no PC mods or plans at the moment for any video/console/PC games to be developed. But after we have some projects out of the way and get back to having multiple dev teams working, that could become a very real possibility.
Last but not least, I have given up on my Podcast. Nobody should be disappointed because nobody was really watching it. However, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy streaming and making videos. But, rather than try to publish all that as a separate brand, it is going to become a team effort and become part of the RPGX Studios offerings. As a throwback to our humble beginnings, team members and myself will be making gameplay videos, commentary, reviews, and other content that will be featured right here on RPGX. While we're a company aimed at making our own products, we're still gamers who love to play other people's games. Expect to see TTRPG's, board games, card games, and other silliness here, regardless of brand.
