Over the past few months, we’ve been quietly building something that pushes Foundry Virtual Tabletop to a new frontier: AI-assisted storytelling and world management.
Now, two sister modules are almost ready for public release — each designed to blend intelligent automation with the creative heart of tabletop gaming.
🧠 The Vision
AI shouldn’t replace your creativity — it should amplify it.These modules are designed to make every GM’s world smarter, more organized, and instantly recallable.
With the RPGX AI Assistant, it talks back.
With the RPGX AI Librarian, your world remembers.
🤖 RPGX AI Assistant
Status: 🚧 Feature-complete for early access testing.Goal: To provide context-aware AI assistance directly within your Foundry chat, using your world’s data.
Key Features
💬 AI Chat in Foundry Chat Log — Talk directly to your in-game assistant like you would any player or GM note-taker.
🔍 Lore-Aware Answers — Pulls context from your ingested journals, NPC notes, and rules content.
🧭 Session Memory Management — The assistant only references what’s in the current RAG scope, preventing cross-world contamination.
⚙️ Configurable Model Settings — Adjust temperature, max tokens, timeout, and retrieval chunk count.
Under Development
🧩 System-Specific Personalities (D&D 5e, Pathfinder, Cyberpunk RED, etc.).
🧠 Adaptive Role Modes — “GM Assistant,” “Lorekeeper,” or “Rules Referee.”
🗨️ Improved Formatting — Richer markdown display and context citation in chat.

⚙️ One-Click Knowledge Management — Ping, ingest, or wipe your AI library from a clean control panel.
🧠 Automatic Chunking & Embedding — Breaks down large journals intelligently for efficient retrieval.
🧾 Individual Journal Uploads — Each journal includes a header-button for single-entry ingestion.
🔐 Local & Private — 100% self-hosted; your campaign data never leaves your machine.
Under Development

🧍♂️ Character & NPC Sheet Indexing — Bring your stat blocks, abilities, and lore into the AI’s awareness.
🗃️ Compendium Ingestion — Upload rulebooks, homebrew collections, and bestiaries into your library.

🧾 Current Development Stage
The core systems — ingestion, retrieval, and AI interaction — are now stable and fully functional. Final work is focused on:
UX polish
Minor context-menu integration
Expanded documentation
Public test release packaging
We’re approaching a 1.0 release for both modules — designed to be fast, local, and expandable.
